How hard is it to learn the trumpet if your a woodwind instrument?
Q. Would it be like first learning a different instrument? Since its brass, I am used to the flute and sax emborsure(sorry can't spell), so how different is it learning a trumpet?

A. I switched from Clarinet to Trombone when I was in 9th grade, it was a bit of a challenge but it was so much fun, One bonus for you is that Trumpets still read music in Treble rather then Bass so I had to relearn all my notes as I read. It will be difficult at first, but it's much easier to learn a second instrument once you already can play one because you've already tuned your ears and know what to listen for. Because brass instruments have a limited number of keys your mouth has to do most of the work to hit different octaves. My best advice is to work with someone who also plays trumpet and they can show you how they purse their lips to hit certain notes. Just don't give up it took me a good year to get good at it.
