The academic study of musical instruments is called organology which produces sound when the player blows air 1. against a sharp edge, or 2. through a reed, causing the air within its resonator A resonator is a device or system that exhibits resonance or resonant behavior, that is, it naturally oscillates at some frequencies, called its resonance frequencies, with greater amplitude than at others. The oscillations in a resonator can be either electromagnetic or mechanical . Resonators are used to either generate waves of specific (usually a column of air) to vibrate. Most of these instruments are made of wood, but can be made of other materials, such as metals A metal is a chemical element that is a good conductor of both electricity and heat and forms cations and ionic bonds with non-metals. In chemistry, a metal is an element, compound, or alloy characterized by high electrical conductivity. In a metal, atoms readily lose electrons to form positive ions (cations). Those ions are surrounded by or plastics Plastic is the general common term for a wide range of synthetic or semisynthetic organic amorphous solid materials used in the manufacture of industrial products. Plastics are typically polymers of high molecular mass, and may contain other substances to improve performance and/or reduce costs.

What is the best woodwind instrument?
Q. Not necessarily the easiest to play. Just something that sounds pretty. (Small would be best.) Thanks!

A. I would suggest the clarinet. It has the most beautiful sound in the woodwind family but thats just my opinion. However my advice would be to get out some cds and have a listen to different woodwind instruments and pick out your favourite sounding instrument.
